The WEEE regulation in the UK bans all industrial electronic and electrical waste from being disposed of at landfill sites. WEEE waste is essentially any electrical device that uses a power supply (battery or mains).
This type of waste currently accounts for around 1.7 million tonnes of electrical waste and it largely includes the following items:
